PARINGIN (TABIRkota) – The Indonesian Orchid Association (PAI) of Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan, participated in the “KemBali” International Orchid Festival recently in Denpasar, Bali.
The International orchid festival carries the theme “Orchids, Unity in Diversity 2023”, and took place at the Niti Mandala Renon public square in Denpasar, from May 4 to 14.
Sri Huriyati Hadi, Chairperson of Balangan’s PAI said, the “KemBali 2023” exhibited no less than 700 species of orchids from outside Bali, and 25 species of Balinese orchids.
“Participants in the festival weren’t only from different regions in Indonesia, but also several countries such as Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan”, Sri Huriyati told reporters, Monday (May 8).
The exhibitors, she continued, could also learn more about orchid cultivation techniques.
In this international exhibition, PAI Balangan brought a number of orchid species in this district, especially those from Halong and Tebing Tinggi sub-districts.
“The event was a good opportunity for Balangan orchids to be better known, both in other regions of Indonesia and abroad,” she explained.
She further hopes that orchid lovers will become more enthusiastic in cultivating rare orchids in Balangan. (ra/ratnasari)
