
BARABAI (TABIRKota) – The Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) administration held a congregational evening prayers (tarawih) and reciting the Qur’an (tadarus) together, in commemoration of the night of Nuzulul Qur’an, Friday (April 7, 2023) or the 17th night of the Holy Month of Ramadan 1444 AH.

This special occasion took place at the HST Regent’s Office in Barabai.
Regional Secretary of HST, heads of the SKPDs (Regional Work Units), other government officials, Al-Qur’an teachers, and clerics participated in the occasion.
HST Regent H Aulia Oktafiandi in his remarks said that the commemoration of Nuzulul Qur’an, congregational tarawih prayers and joint recitation of the Qur’an, were expected to provide blessings for all attendees, especially officials of the HST regencial goverment.
“Let’s contenplate and examine the meaning contained in the commemoration of the Nuzulul Qur’an. That way, we will always be awake and avoid actions that aren’t blessed by Allah SWT”, Regent Aulia advised.
Meanwhile H Sulaiman, Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Batang Alai Utara Subdistrict, HST, in his speech explained, the Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), at the beginning of his mission, and the first revelation came in the month of Ramadan, on Laylat al-Qadr.
“The sending down of the Qur’an began in Ramadan of the first year of the Prophet’s mission, and continued for 23 years”, he explained.
With regard to fasting, he continued, it was enjoined approximately fifteen years after the Prophet’s mission began, that is, after the first words of the Qur’an were revealed.
“And Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) fasted nine Ramadans. During these years, the Qur’an continued to be revealed”, H Sulaiman described. (ra/ferian sadikin)
