The Health Services of HST Distributed Free Medicines for Those Who Were Affected by the Floods

BARABAI (TABIRKota) – The Health Service (Dinkes) of Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) Regency, South Kalimantan (Kalsel) distributed free medicines to residents who were affected by the floods zone.

According to the Pharmacy Section of HST Health Services, Rafi’ah through the Community Health Center (Puskesmas) Pharmacist, Cynthia Dwi, the distribution of medicines is carried out in two ways.

“We provide medicines at the Tagana Main Post in the Gedung Juang Barabai and some are distributed directly to the residents by the Community Health Center (Puskesmas) staff,” She told to TABIRkota.com in Barabai, the capital of HST, Monday (20/3).

The medicines prepared, she said, included: phlegm medicine, itching cream, anti-diarrheal, coughs, aspirin, ointment, and medicines.

“If the medicines stock at the Tagana Main Post is no longer sufficient, it will be re-supplied through the pharmacy warehouse,” she said.

Data from the HST Health Services said that until Friday (17/3) at least 38 residents were affected by the flooding and they came directly to the Tagana Main Post to ask for medicine.

She added that the medicines stocks at the Tagana Main Post were reserved for residents who had been affected by flooding in the capital zona.

“Until now, the most demand for medicines is itching cream and ulcer tablets,” she added.

Separately, the Community Health Center (Puskesmas) Pharmacist in Pandawan, Hj Anita Selviana, said they did not only distribute but also did the activities of the Mobile Health Center (Pusling).

“Pusling activities are usually done around 13 villages in the Pandawan Health Center area, however, due to the current flooding conditions, all activities are directed to Jaranih Village,” she said.

According to her, the Pusling activities as well as the distribution of free medicines for residents were carried out by using the boats.

“Adjusting to the flooding conditions, we are preparing to bring more availability of relevant medicines,” she said.

At this time in the Tagana Main Post itself, the Public Safety Center (PCS) 119 Murakata contineues to be on alert to monitor emergencies that first aid. (ra/feriansadikin)
