KANDANGAN (TABIRkota) – No less than 119 social volunteers from Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS) take part in the 2023 “Great Jamboree on Social Welfare Potential and Resources (PSKS)” in Kiram Park, Banjar Regency.
HSS Regent H Achmad Fikry sent off the social volunteers, Friday, through a ceremony in the yard of his office in Kandangan.
PSKS social volunteers are the frontline for local governments, who must be ready at any time to assist the community in overcoming various social problems and disasters.
In his remarks, Regent Achmad Fikry conveyed a message that social volunteers could take lessons and knowledge from the grand jamboree.
“You will meet and interact with social volunteers from other regencies and municipalities in South Kalimantan. It will be a very valuable opportunity for you to exchange knowledge and information, about many things”, he said.
He gave an example, if social volunteer groups from other districts had a better PSKS program, then it could be adopted for further implementation in HSS.
“Or vice versa, we can share our programs which are considered good and suitable to be implemented in other places in South Kalimantan”, Regent Achmad Fikry pointed out.
On the same occasion, Head of Social Service of HSS, Nordiansyah said, the PSKS Grand Jamboree at Kiram Park is an event organized by the South Kalimantan Social Service that is attended by around 3,000 social volunteers.
“The participants came from all regencies and municipalities in South Kalimantan. The series of events take place from March 3 to 5″, Nurdiansyah explained.
The event will also become the largest PSKS grand jamboree in Indonesia, and will be recorded by the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI).
Various kinds of social activities will be held at the grand jamboree, including blood donation, tree planting, traditional game competitions, and workshops.(alf)
