BANJARMASIN (TABIRkota) – The DPRD (regional legislative council) of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan plans to build a new office building starting this year.
The construction of a new office building is deemed necessary, considering the old one is decades old.
“When River Martapura water rises high and spills over the river banks, and it rains heavily, the old office building is often flooded,” Matnor Ali, Deputy Chairman of the Banjarmasin DPRD, said yesterday, quoted from Antara Kalsel.
The new office building will be built 3 (three) storey, with a typical Banjarese traditional house concept which is called Bubungan Tinggi and Gajah Manyusu.
The construction process of the office building will begin this year, and is planned to be completed in 2023.
The construction project of the new office building is estimated to cost no less than IDR/Rp 40 billion.
In the future, when the new Banjarmasin DPRD office building can already be occupied, the old one will still function, though.
“As a workspace for our staff and other employees,” Matnor Ali said. (sah)Â
