KANDANGAN (TABIRkota) – Regent of HSS (Hulu Sungai Selatan) Ahmad Fikry and wife, Deputy Regent Syamsuri Arsyad and wife, and several officials of HSS administration, on Thursday (February 2nd, 2022) become the earliest visitors of a food court called “Waroeng Kandangan”.
Waroeng Kandangan was founded by Muhammad Thaha, a retired civil servant of the HSS regencial government.
Muhammad Thaha opens the Waroeng Kandangan in his fairly large house yard, on Jalan Ahmad Yani Km 3, Gambah Luar Village, Kandangan Subdistrict.
At Waroeng Kandangan, there are a number of vendors at food stalls or “service counters” that provide a variety of South Kalimantan’s local cuisine, such as soto Banjar, ketupat Kandangan, and different types of porridge.
Visitors can also find various kinds of traditional, Banjarese cakes.
Meals can be ordered at one of the vendors and then carried to a common dining area.
The food may also be ordered as “takeout” for consumption at another location, such as home or workplace.
Regent Achmad Fikry hopes that Waroeng Kandangan can become a “receptacle” for traditional Banjarese cake makers.
“Waroeng Kandangan should serve up satisfying meals to consumers. Start with good-quality ingredients, also pay attention to food’s hygiene and flavor”, Regent Achmad Fikry advises.
He adds, Waroeng Kandangan can also be a newly gathering place for traditional dishes and cakes hunters in HSS and its surrounding districts.
Waroeng Kandangan is open every day, from 10 AM to 5 PM. (sahrudin)
