MARABAHAN (TABIRkota) – South Kalimantan’s Barito Kuala administration organized a firefighters challenge last week in the regency’s capital, Marabahan.
The competition is a test of skill and fitness, and simulates the physical demands of real life firefighting to the public.
There were dozens of firefighters organizations which took part in this event.
Regent of Barito Kuala, Noormiliyani AS said the competition should become an annual event.
“Whoever will become the next Barito Kuala Regent, must organize this competition every year. The skills of our firefighters must always be honed. We must continue to motivate them,” Noormiliyani said in the closing ceremony of the event, on Saturday (January 17, 2022).
She explained that the Barito Kuala administration has also provided insurance coverage to all volunteer firefighters.
At the firefighters challenge, the BPK (fire service organization) of Kebun Jeruk won 1st Winner, the BPK of Nurul Iman secured 2nd place, and BPK Nurul Hidayah stayed in 3rd place. (sahrudin)
