
BANJARBARU (TABIRkota) – Municipal Government of Banjarbaru is currently preparing to vaccinate children aged between six and 11 years following permission obtained from Ministry of Health.
Epidemiologist of the Banjarbaru Health Agency, Edi Sampana, said, the municipal government has been carrying out several preparatory steps prior to vaccination.
“We have been coordinating with Banjarbaru’s Education and Culture Agency and Ministry of Religion Affairs,” Edi Sampana explained on Wednesday (January 5, 2022).
Mr Edi Sampana further said, coordination between Banjarbaru Health Agency and the two institutions is considered necessary, because children aged six to 11 years are generally students of schools under the auspices of the two institutions.
“The vaccination will be held at primary schools, both the SD (Sekolah Dasar) and the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic primary school)”, he continued.
In accordance with the provisions of Ministry of Health, vaccination for children aged six to 11 years can be carried out with several conditions.
Among the conditions are, the first phase of vaccination has reached a minimum of 70 percent, and the second phase of vaccination is at least 60 percent.
Recent data show that the cumulative percent of people in Banjarbaru who have received Covid-19 vaccine, as of January 4, 2022, was 81.57 percent for the first dose, and 67.31 percent for the second dose. (sahrudin)
