BANJARMASIN (TABIRkota) – Management of Barito Putera FC on Sunday (December 13, 2021) have officially terminated the contract of Djajang Nurjaman by mutual consent.
The 62-year-old head coach whose nickname is Djanur, is fired because of “unsatisfactory” results obtained by Barito Putera, during the first round of Indonesia’s top tier football league, BRI Liga 1.
Mr Djanur himself has managed the Laskar Antasari, nickname of Barito Putera, for about two years.
Speculating is fun, including in who the next Barito Putera head coach will be, to face the second round of BRI Liga 1 which will start early January 2022.
Over the past several days, a number of names were thrown out as potential candidates, including Rahmad Darmawan, and foreign coaches Tomas Trucha, Dragan Djukanovic, and Mario Gomez.
Rahmad Darmawan, familiarly known as RD, is currently head coach at RANS Cilegon FC.
He has been handling the club owned by the country’s crazy rich, celebrity Rafi Ahmad, since November 11, 2021, and is struggling to take the team up to the 2022 Liga 1 level.
RD used to bring two big Indonesian soccer clubs, Persipura Jayapura and Sriwijaya FC, achieving the country’s highest domestic title, the Liga Indonesia a few years ago.
He also trained the Indonesian national team in 2012, in addition to several Liga 1 clubs such as Persija Jakarta, Mitra Kukar, Madura United and Persikabo 1973.
Beside domestic league, RD has also a track record in managing foreign clubs, such as Malaysian Super League team Terengganu FC, from 2015 to 2017.
Other candidate who might be appointed the head coach of Barito Putera, is Tomas Trucha from the Czech Republic.
Mr Trucha has recently successfully brought newly promoted Penang FC to the third place of the 2021 Malaysian Super League.
Before signed a contract with Penang FC, the 50-year-old coach had previously managed, either as a head coach or assistant coach, 19 youth and professional soccer clubs of the Czech Republic and other countries.
Apart from Tomas Trucha, two other foreign coaches who are likely to be on the shortlist of the Bekantan Hamuk (another Barito Putera FC’s moniker) are Dragan Djukanovic of Serbia, and Argentinian Roberto Carlos Mario Gomez.
The two names are already familiar to football fans in Indonesia.
Mr Djukanovic (or Dukanovic), former head coach of PSIS Semarang, is currently manager of AE Karaiskakis, a second tier Greek football club.
The man who was born on October 29, 1969 is considered able to give satisfactory result to PSIS Semarang’s fans during the 2020 Liga 1, before the league was subsequently suspended due to coronavirus pandemic.
Another manager with history in Indonesian football is Roberto Carlos Mario Gomez.
The 64-year-old Argentinian was the head coach at Persib Bandung (2017-2018), Arema FC (2020), and Borneo FC in the 2019 and 2021 Liga 1 seasons.
Mr Gomez was also assistant coach of Italian elite teams Valencia CF (199-2001), and Inter Milan (2001-2003).
Now that some names have been given out, and then, when will the Laskar Antasari coaching search come to an end?. (sahrudin)
