“Adaro Berjuang untuk Indonesia”, Commitment to Support Government in Overcoming Pandemic

TANJUNG (TABIRkota) – A program called “Adaro Berjuang untuk Indonesia” (Adaro to Struggle for Indonesia) is a commitment of PT Adaro Indonesia to supporting the government in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic, says Chief Executive Officer of PT Adaro Energy Tbk, Garibaldi Thohir, in a press release, Tuesday (October 19).

The press release itself is issued to give further explanation on Adaro’s scheme to distribute 15 thousand free Covid-19 vaccines for the communities of five regencies in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan provinces.

PT Adaro, Mr Garibaldi continues, has been synergizing with other parties including the National Disaster and Mitigation Agency (BNPB) as Coordinator of the Covid-19 Response Acceleration Task Force, by providing a donation with a total of Rp (IDR) 20 billion.

“In the program of ‘Adaro Berjuang untuk Indonesia’ we team up with many parties, working together to end the Covid-19 pandemic”, he explains, adding that PT Adaro has been carrying out efforts since the pandemic evolved on March 2020.

The grant that PT Adaro provided, has been used to support the needs of health officers, including doctors and nurses to military personnel that become frontline workers in fighting the Covid-19.

“We also allocate the donation by providing 20 units of ambulances in order to help the transportation need of the community or individuals who are infected by the Covid-19”, he remarks.

PT Adaro, says Mr Garibaldi, also cooperates with the University of Indonesia in preparing and distributing 100 units of Covent-20 ventilators and 40 units of Dharcov-23S emergency ventilators from Dharma Group to hospitals in Indonesia.

“We also donate Covid-19 testing diagnostic laboratory equipment, rapid test tools for several hospitals, and also personal protective equipment for health officers”, he points out.

This year, PT Adaro also gives out a grant with total of Rp 2.75 billion to the BNPB. The grant is used to fund operational needs, such as medical and health officers’ incentive pays, to finance ambulance services, and also procurement of personal protective equipment.

From March 2020 to February 28, 2021 ambulance services which are provided by PT Adaro, have helped more than 19 thousand patients’ transportation for free, in the area of the Jabotabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi). (sah/RA)
